An exhibition of paintings by eight artists from Bangladesh was inaugurated at the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi on Wednesday. The exhibition titled Bangla-Tuli, is part of the joint celebrations between India and Bangladesh commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. It was inaugurated by the Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, Jawhar Sircar in the presence of Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in India, Mr Mahbub Hassan Saleh. Mr Sircar said that Tagore is part of the common heritage between India and Bangladesh.He said that his Ministry will continue to organize such kind of camps of artists with its neighbours to bring the people closer to each other.Describing Rabindranath as the greatest cultural icon in the world, Mr. Saleh said, that the cultural bondage between the two countries is inseparable.
