Excess rainfall in Rajasthan this monsoon season

The desert state of Rajasthan has so far received excess rainfall of 85.3 mm this monsoon season. Water Resources Department said that the state has received 427 mm rainfall against the normal of 341.70 mm from June 1 to August 28. Jaisalmer and Barmer are among eight districts falling under excess category, while Sriganganagar and Hanumangarh are only two districts under scanty category during the same period. Churu is the only district which recorded abnormal rainfall of 60 per cent or more. According to the data, this year till date, 17 out of 33 districts have recorded normal rainfall.
