Except Ganga, all main rivers receding in UP

In Uttar Pradesh, except Ganga all main rivers are receding. According to Central Water Commission water level in Ganga, river is rising mainly due to release of more than 75 thousand cusec water released from Narora dam during last twenty four hours.Ganga touches warning level in Kanpur city but still two meter below the danger mark as the report last came in. In Bulandshahr also, water level Ganga River has increased.However situation has improved in Flood affected areas of Shahjahanpur. The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ramashankar told AIR correspondent that water in Ganga River is receding now. The Shahjahanpur -Bareilly road is also open for heavy traffic, ADM said.The Ghaghara River is also constant at Elgin Bridge in Barabanki and Turtipar in Ballia but is increasing in Ayodhya.Water level in Yamuna is almost constant in several places, the water commission has said.The state met department director J P Gupta told AIR that there will be good rain fall throughout the state in next twenty four hours. The met expert observes that a heavy rain fall may occur in few places in the state.The Met department says that Nazimabad recorded highest 162 millimeter rain fall, while Varanasi recorded 30 mm, Kanpur city 12 mm, Meerut 17 mm and Urai in Bundelkhand region has recorded 15 mm rain fall during last twenty four hours.
