Campaigners in the Democratic Republic of Congo say they have found evidence that former rebels are using extortion to profit from the country's Cobalt Mines, some of the richest in the world. According to the campaign group, GLOBAL WITNESS, the ex fighters some of whom are now serving in the Congolese Army have gained far greater control of the mines than they did as insurgents.
