The former Prime Minister of Fiji, Mahendra Chaudhry, has been arrested for allegedly breaching the military government's emergency regulations. Mr. Chaudhry, leader of the opposition Labour party, was detained with five other people for holding public meetings in breach of the regulations, imposed after a coup in 2006. He is expected to appear in court on tomorrow.
