Former Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat Narhari Amin has joined the BJP today. Earlier he had resigned from Congress party after denial of party ticket for coming State Assembly Elections. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has personally welcomed Narhari Amin in BJP at a public function outside BJP headquarters in Ahmedabad. Speaking on this occasion, Mr.Amin said that Congress has betrayed their party members.

Meanwhile, Congress said that the decision not giving the ticket to Mr.Amin was based on its criteria of not fielding anyone who lost two consecutive polls in the state. Mr. Amin had lost the assembly polls in 1998, 2002 and 2007 from Sabarmati and Matar assembly segments. State Congress has warned the dissidents that it would not tolerate indiscipline or anyone found working against party interests.
