Former Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrasekhar today appeared before the Joint Parliamentary Committee, JPC on 2G Spectrum as as a witness.

BJP members in the JPC today again abstained from the meeting. They had boycotted the last two meetings of the Committee.

The BJP has been demanding that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram should be examined by the panel.

While the BJP has been pressing for calling the Prime Minister and Chidamaram as witnesses, the Left parties and the Samajwadi Party are in favour of summoning the Finance Minister alone.
Chairman of the Commitee PC Chacko virtually rejected demands for calling the Prime Minister before the Committee.
