Ex-Army man behind Wisconsin shooting

The gunman suspected of shooting seven people at a Gurudwara in Wisconsin in the US on Sunday has been identified a former Army man. Law Enforcement sources told Foreign media that attacker shot dead by the police was 40-year-old Michael Page. Eye witnesses said he entered the Gurudwara and opened fire killing the people.

Indian Ambassador to US Nirupama Rao said Washington assured India that the tragic incident would be fully investigated. She said US Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan spoke to her from White House to convey President Barack Obama's sincerest condolences.

Soon after the incident, Obama reviewed the security situation with his top national security aides. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has promised a thorough probe into the attack. FBI Milwaukee Special Agent-in-Charge Teresa Carlson said in a statement that while the FBI was investigating whether this matter might be an act of domestic terrorism, no motive had been determined yet into the incident.

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh while expressing deep shock over the shooting incident hoped the American authorities would investigate who were behind this dastardly attack and provide relief and succour to the affected families.
