Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation D V Sadanand Gowda said that evidence based data is required for policy formulation. Inaugurating the  workshop for the socio economic survey of the National Sample Survey Office , NSSO in Guwahati today , he said that a country  couldnot go forward without knowing the ground reality.  <br />''  <br />'' The minister said that NSSO is going to launch Time Use Survey from 1st of January next year. He said that  the survey would enable measuring time spent by individuals on different activities. The minister also said that apart from the Time Use Survey , other surveys including  -Land and Livestock Holdings of Households and Debt and Investment  among others are also to be conducted.  <br />''  <br />'' AIR correspondent reports that socio- economic surveys conducted by the NSSO are the primary source of various indicators used by the government planning , policy formulation and decision making. <br />''  <br />''<br />
