The President, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has said that in multilingual, multi cultural and multi religious society like India people have been able to live together for ages. Addressing the closing ceremony of the bi-centenary celebration of the Diocese of Calcutta, Mr. Mukherjee said that every religion preaches the fundamental values of humanity, love and compassion. President said that several religions in India thrived due to its associative capacity and that has come to define the nation's civilization over the centuries.
