Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today said, the invaluable contribution of Sardar Patel in building a modern and unified India needs to be remembered by every Indian. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said this while inaugurating a two day National Conference and an Exhibition in New Delhi today, on Making of a Gandhian Nationalist : Life and Times of Sardar Patel. <br/><br/>He said, Sardar Patel was a selfless leader and placed country's interests above everything else.<br/><br/> Mr Naidu said, he shaped India's destiny with single-minded devotion. Vice President said he has always seen Sardar Patel as an ideal person in his life. <br/><br/>He congratulated Nehru Memorial Museum and Library for organizing such a valuable exhibition on Sardar Patel. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma said Sardar Patel is a source of inspiration for all countrymen who unified 562 princely States into India. <br/><br/>He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi vision of "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat" is based on the unification of our country.
