In Uttar Pradesh, evening courts have begun functioning at three districts of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Rampur and Gorakhpur to ensure speedy disposal of judicial cases. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports, state government had issued notification last month for setting up morning evening courts. As per the notification in addition to usual timings of courts, morning and evening courts would also be held. It said, if the experiment proves successful, similar courts would be held in all districts. This way, Uttar Pradesh has become the first state in north India where special courts would be held both in morning and evening.
