As the evacuation of the Indians from strife torn Libya gathers momentum, three more flights with over 1000 passengers have left Tripoli for New Delhi. These flights will continue daily over the coming days and may be stepped up further. Over thousand Indians returned home in three batches early on Wednesday morning.Indian Ship MV Scortia Prince sailed out of Benghazi, Libya with about 1200 passengers on board yesterday. It is likely to reach the Egyptian coast of Alexandria later tonight. Four special flights will be operated tomorrow to bring back these Indians from there. A charter flight carrying 78 passengers arrived at Larnasa in Cyprus from Libya last evening and the Indian High Commission is sending them through commercial flights to India.Another 126 Indians have left Libya on their own in coordination with Indian missions. Another 267 Indians have crossed over to Salloum in Egypt and 180 of them have returned home in batches to Mumbai. Besides this, 1400 persons have reached Djerba in Tunis and special flights are being scheduled to bring them back home soon. So far about 6200 Indian nationals have been pulled out of Libya which constitutes one-third of the estimated 18,000 people from the country there.
