The first European trial of alleged Somali pirates is due to open shortly in The Netherlands. Five men are charged with attempting to hijack a cargo ship in the gulf of Aden. They were arrested last year when their high speed boat was intercepted by Danish patrol vessel. Their lawyers say they will challenge the jurisdiction of Dutch court to try the case.
