Euro 2016: Iceland stuns England 2-1 to enter quarterfinals

Lowly ranked Iceland becomes the last team to book the last-8 berth as they stunned a mighty England side, 2-1, in the Euro Football Championships 2016 last night.In the round of 16 match, England attained an early lead in the 4th minute with Wayne Ronney's penalty kick. However, it was shortlived as Iceland's Aron Gunnarsson equalised from a half volley that went past England's Goal Keeper Joe Hart, in the 8th minute. Then 133rd ranked Iceland took lead with Kolbeinn Sigthorsson strike from edge of penalty area. This is one of the biggest upset in EURO Football cup history.While in another round of 16 match last night, two time defending champions Spain were ousted by Italy 2-0. Italy out classed former champions as they rode on goals by Giorgio Chiellini and Graziano Pelle.With this the quarter-final draws have been established. From tomorrow onwards, Portugal will meet Poland, Wales will face Belgium while Germany to meet Italy and France will see Iceland in the quarter-finals stage.
