The European Union has backed the Inter – Governmental Panel on Climate Change – IPCC and offered help in updating its procedures. The EU on Saturday said it had offered to help the UN climate panel strengthen its quality control processes. Spain's Secretary of State for Climate Change .Teresa Ribera said this in New Delhi. Spain is Chair of the 27-nation European Union.<br/><br/> She said, the IPCC has grown and the level of science and research has improved so much with participation of so many different partners of the world. Therefore there is need to update the assessment and the quality control of its work.<br/><br/> Ribera said she had personally written to the IPCC Chairman R K Pachauri, offering help to update and help improve these kinds of controls.<br/><br/> On errors in the IPCC report, she said that some factual data could be misleading in such a long report but there were enough references to trace the source of the errors.
