European Union observers have raised concerns about the Presidential election in Togo. They say local polling stations had been closely monitored but there was lack of transparency when the results were transmitted to the national electoral commission. The candidate of the opposition Togolese Union Forces for Change Jean Pierre Fabre and the current President Faure Gnassingbe has both claimed victory. No results have yet been released.
