EU expands sanctions on Iran

The European Union has expanded sanctions against Iran on concerns about the country's nuclear programme. The EU officials on Monday said it has added a number of items to the list of those subject to travel restrictions and a freezing of assets. They said more than 100 names have been added. Iran says its nuclear program is for civilian purpose. However, International observers and Western governments are concerned that Iran is enriching uranium as part of a nuclear weapons programme.
