In Nepal, western diplomats including the ambassadors from European Union, the US and other western countries have expressed concern over the growing rift among the political parties that could affect peace process and constitution writing. <br/><br/>Envoys from the European Union countries, the United States and other western countries met Nepal’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister Sujata Koirala at her residence in Mandikhatar in Kathmandu today.<br/><br/>Koirala told reporters after the meeting that the diplomats expressed concern over the prevailing political situation and urged the government to urgently take steps for political consensus.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports that foreign diplomats have become active in the last few weeks as the political crisis deepened in Nepal. Last week they asked the Maoist to withdraw the indefinite general strike and now, they are asking the ruling alliance to build consensus to resolve the political stalemate.
