EU deploys EOM to Nepal to observe upcoming elections

The European Union has deployed an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Nepal to observe upcoming parliamentary and provincial elections scheduled for 26 November and 7 December. The Mission has been deputed on an invitation of the Nepalese authorities. <br/><br/>According to a press release issued by the European Union a Core Team of 10 election analysts arrived at Kathmandu today. They will stay in Nepal until completion of the electoral process.Next week Core Team will be joined by 38 long-term observers. <br/><br/>The Mission will also cooperate with other international and domestic observation missions. Shortly after the completion of House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies' elections, the mission will issue a preliminary statement of its findings. <br/><br/>The European Union had also deployed Election Observation Missions in 2008 and 2013 constituent assembly elections in Nepal.
