Estimated cost of Mizoram's first-ever state railway link project raised by a whopping 2,400 crore

The State Level Task force for National Railway Project in Mizoram has raised the estimated cost of the first-ever state railway link project by a whopping 2,400 crore rupees. The estimated cost for a railway link from Bairabi to Sairang near Aizawl was just nine crore rupees earlier. Chairman of the task force Zasanga told this to AIR Correspondent Jonathan after a spot survey by the RITES, a survey agency. He said the revised estimated cost was submitted to the Ministry of Railways last month. He expressed hope to get the approval for this ambitious project by the end of September this year.
