Europe's top football leagues have warned FIFA not to shift the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to the winter season. The Association of the European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL), which includes the English Premier League has said there is no need to rush through such a decision without discussing implications fully. In a statement, the EPFL said that the feasibility of any change to the calendar involves every aspect of football organization across all countries, from the grass-roots to the major national representative tournaments and the leagues. It said that no hasty decision should be made by the FIFA executive committee meeting on October 3-4.The statement adds that such an important decision cannot be rushed with artificial deadlines and a proper medical assessment on the impact of the heat on players and supporters in Qatar should be undertaken .
