Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh has called for massive afforestation to ensure successful implementation of the National Mission for Green India. <br/><br/>Inaugurating the Regional Consultative Mission for Green India in Mysore, Mr Ramesh said that the mission is one of the many action plans framed to confront climate change. The Minister said, the Green India Mission can not be implemented at one go. In this connection, a pilot project will be undertaken. <br/><br/>Mr Ramesh also called for redefining the role of the Forest department and radical changes in its functioning.
