Entrance examinations for different courses being conducted at FTII

Amidst ongoing controversy regarding appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as a chairman governing council and long pending internal assessment of Diploma films of 2008 batch, entrance examinations are being conducted today for admissions for different courses available at the Film and Television Institute of India. Around 3 thousand 500 students are appearing for this examination at 18 centers all over India. Through this examination, admission will be open for 11 different courses like Acting, Editing, Cinematography, Sound Recording, Television Production, Film Direction etc. For each course, admission will be given to 12 students.<br/><br/>In the meantime, 73 days old strike of FTII students is still on. Tomorrow, the committee under the chairmanship of Registrar of Newspapers S M Khan will be submitting its report to I&B Ministry. This committee had discussions with all concerned in FTII on Friday. Committee members and agitating students both have said that the discussions were positive.
