The Entire North and several other parts of the country, are reeling under severe cold wave conditions. The national capital continues to be under the grip of biting cold with chilly winds keeping the mercury levels well below normal. The day temperatures today hovered around 11 degrees, almost ten degrees below normal. AIR correspondent reports that people preferred to stay indoors as this was one of the coldest day of the season so far.Almost all parts of Madhya Pardesh are reeling under server cold wave conditions. Our Bhopal corrospondent reports that Umaria and sidhi records minimum temperature of one degree celcius.There is no respite from cold in Uttar Pradesh with both day and night temperatures remaining below normal in all divisions of the state. According to Met department, Agra was the coldest place with 0.6 degree celsius minimum temperature recorded last night which was 6 degree celsius below normal. Deaths were also reported in the state due to cold from different districts but Relief Commissioner of the state has denied it. As per reports, eight people died in Jaunpur district during last 24 hours due to the cold, taking the toll to 31 in the district. In Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, cold wave conditions have aggravated by thick fog and mist. In Haryana, Narnaul continued to be the coldest place at minimum temperature of 1.5 degree Celsius. In Bihar, closure of all schools of the state has been extended upto January 14 due to cold wave. Rail and air traffic have been badly affected due to dense fog. The Railway has cancelled three trains, namely, Rajdhani Express from Patna, Mahabodhi Express from Gaya and Swantantra Senani Express from Darbhanga.
