Jharkhand Governor M.O.H. Farooq has declared the remaining eight districts of the state as drought hit. With this move, the entire state has come under drought affected region. AIR correspondent reports that the decision came after a meeting the Jharkhand Governor convened in Ranchi on Monday which was attended by his three Advisors and Secretaries of Agriculture and Natural Disaster departments. The West Bengal Government has declared 11 districts of the state as drought affected due to inadequate rainfall. Announcing this in Kolkata on Monday, State Finance Minister, Asim Dasgupta said that the Government has sanctioned 50 crore rupees to deal with the situation. AIR correspondent reports that the State has received 30 per cent shortage of rainfall so far. Bihar Government has already declared the entire state as drought-hit.
