Government on Tuesday said that there is enough stocks of sugar is available in the country.This information was given by the Minister of State for Food and Public Distribution, Raosaheb Patil Danve in the Lok Sabha.He said, sugar production in the country during last three sugar seasons as well as estimated production during current sugar season has been more than the domestic demand. He said, the production is estimated at around 242 lakh tonnes during 2013-14 till 31st of May which is two lakh tonne more than the consumption.
