The Centre has asked North-Eastern states to enhance vigil along the National Highways to stop movement of militants from neighbouring countries. Official sources said in New Delhi that regular checks are being conducted through regular and mobile check posts at random besides special intelligence based operations being undertaken to stop their entry and exit in the region. Sources said that arms have also been seized at National Highways in the random checking operations. AIR correspondent reports that fencing over a length of 2 thousand 6 hundred kilometres along the Indo- Bangladesh border has already been completed out of the sanctioned 3 thousand four hundred kilometres. High tech equipments like Hand Held Thermal Imagers. Mobile Surveillance Vehicles, Battle Field Surveillance Radar and Unattended Ground Sensors have been provided to Border Security Force for effective domination of the border.
