England registered an emphatic 10 wicket victory over India in the second test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai Monday and brought the 4 test series level at 1-1. Resuming at a precarious 117 for seven after conceding a vital 86-run first innings lead, the Indians were bundled out for a paltry 142 within an hour's play on the fourth morning. Skipper Alstair Cook and Nick Compton crossed the victory target of 57 runs in 9.4 overs.England spinner Monty Panesar claimed 6 Indian wickets for 81 runs in the second innings raising his wicket haul in both the innings of the 2nd test to 11. The two teams will now travel to Kolkata for the third Test beginning from December 5.The scores:India : 327 and 142England: 413 and 58 without any loss of wicket.
