England in commanding position against India with 216 for 1 at 2nd day 3rd test

England took comprehensive control of the 3rd test match in Kolkata today as they scored 216 for 1 in reply to India's first innings total of 316 on Day 2. Skipper Cook's unbeaten 136 was his fifth in a test as Captain and his 23rd overall. Pragyan Ojha claimed the wicket of Nic Compton who scored 57. Earlier, about an hour's batting in the morning gave India the chance to add 43 runs to their overnight score of 273 for 7 and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni another half century at the Eden Gardens. Dhoni's 52 today is his 27th fifty in tests and 7th against England.
