In reply to India's first innings total of 224, England were 84 for no loss at stumps on the opening day of the third Cricket Test in Birmingham yesterday.Andrew Strauss at 51 and Alistair Cook at 26 were at the crease when the stumps were drawn on day one. Earlier, India were all out for 224. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni made 77 runs while Gautam Gambhir scored 38. Virendra sehwag was out for a duck. For England, Stuart Broad and Tim Bresnan bagged four wickets each.
