England clinches ODI series against India

England clinched the five-match ODI cricket series against India by taking an unassailable 2-0 lead after 4th One Dayer ended in a tie under the Duckworth-Lewis method. Chasing a winning target of 281, England were 270 for eight in the 49th over when rain stopped play, forcing the umpires to abandon the match at the Lord's in London on Sunday night. Earlier, put into bat, India scored 280 for five in stipulated 50 overs with Suresh Raina 84 and MS Dhoni 78 not out. Play was held up twice because of brief showers, once with India leading by two runs, and on the second occasion England ahead under the Duckworth-Lewis rule. But the quick dismissals of Graeme Swann and Ravi Bopara in the penultimate over, just before the second interruption, ensured India to tie the game.
