England beat New Zealand by 87 runs in ICC Champions Trophy <br/>

England defeated New Zealand by 87 runs to become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Champions Trophy match at Cardiff in England yesterday. Chasing a England&apos;s 311 runs target, New Zealand were all out on 223 in 44.3 overs. Sent to bat, England were all out for 310 in 49.3 overs. Joe Root was top scorer with 64 runs, Jose Buttler remained not out on 61. A Hales contributed 56 and B Stokes 48 runs. New Zealand&apos;s Milne and Anderson captured three wickets each. For Kiwis, who failed to meet the target, Kane Williamson contributed maximum 87 runs while Ross Taylor with 39 was the second highest scorer. For the hosts, Liam Plunkett bagged 4 wickets spending 55 runs.Today, in a group B match, Pakistan will take on South Africa at Edgbaston Cricket Ground, in Birmingham. The match will start at six pm.
