England defeated India by seven wickets on the fifth day of the third Cricket Test at Eden Gardens in Kolkata this morning. The visitors chased down the target of 41 runs after losing quick three wickets in just 12.1 overs to take an invincible lead of 2-1 in the series. Earlier in the day, England completed the formalities by removing the last wicket to get India all out for 247 in the second over on the final day.The hosts India resumed at 239 for 9 overnight with R Ashwin, 83 and Prgayan Ojha, 3 at the crease, but the latter was castled by James Anderson in the second over of the day.Ashwin remained unbeaten at 91 missing out a deserving second test century. The duo added 50 runs for the last wicket to set England a victory target of 41 runs.
