England beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in ICC Champions Trophy

England defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the opening match of Champions Trophy. At Oval in London Yesterday, chasing a victory target of 306, England made 308 for 2 with 16 balls to spare. Joe Root's unbeaten 133 off 129 balls helped England to chase down the target in just 47.2 overs. England medium pacer Plunkett took four wickets in 10 overs conceding 59 runs.Earlier put in to bat, Bangladesh posted a challenging total of 305 for 6 in stipulated 50 overs. For Bangladesh, top scorer was Tamim Iqbal with 128 while Mushfiqur Rahim made 79 runs. Today, in the second match of the trophy being played in England, New Zealand will lock horn with Australia at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. The match will start at three pm, Indian time.India vs Pakistan match is scheduled for Sunday. Altogether there are eight teams vying for the trophy.
