The blue-chip Dow rose yesterday as hopes of a COVID-19 vaccine fueled demand for economically-sensitive stocks such as energy and industrials. On the other side, a sell-off in technology heavyweights capped gains of the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 1.1 percent and the S&P 500 gained 0.6 percent and the Nasdaq Composite index added 0.2 percent.
