In Jammu and Kashmir, the fierce encounter between militants and security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar has ended with the killing of two militants.According to intelligence inputs, two to three modules of Jaish and Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba were planning to carry out strikes in the city and other important installations ahead of the Obama's visit early next month.Intelligence was shared with the local Army formations about presence of three terrorists in a property dealer's house at Malroo, 15 kilometres from Srinagar.Repeated requests to the terrorists to surrender were ignored. The militants instead started firing at the police and army parties. With night approaching, the security forces blasted the two houses where the terrorists were holed up. One terrorist is believed to have escaped.Police said the two killed were identified 'Chota Unni” and 'Abdullah'. Two Policemen and a young girl were injured by stray bullets at nearby localities, while another girl fell from the first floor of her house and suffered injury.SSP Srinagar Ashiq Bukhari told reporters that the encounter has ended but the search operation for the third militant is on.
