In Jammu and Kashmir, an encounter between the security forces and the hiding ultras is going on in Poonch district. The gunbattle started when acting on specific information, security forces including army and police launched a search operation in Sanyote forests of Mendhar area of this border district today. SSP Poonch, Mr. Manmohan Singh told AIR news that when the contact between the forces and the militants was established, the troops asked the hiding ultras to surrender, however, the latter started indiscriminate firing on the troops. A heavy exchange of gunfire was going on till the reports last came in. Additional troops have been rushed to the area.
