In Jammu and Kashmir, the encounters that have started today between security forces and militants in Poonch district is still going on. The encounter had started when acting on a tip off about presence of two militants, the security forces launched a search operation in Sanyog forest in Mendhar area of this border district. Heavy exchange of gun fire that continued for 8 hours stopped in the evening. The entire area has been cordoned off and a massive search operation has been launched.
