Encounter between Naxals and police killed 11 state police and CRPF jawans in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, 11 state police and CRPF jawans have been killed and 60 were injured in an encounter between the Naxals and the police at Pathari slope near Dhardharia waterfall under Senha police station in Lohardaga district on Tuesday. Injured have been admitted to different hospitals in Lohardaga and Ranchi. The encounter took place when the police went to the spot after being tipped off about the presence of Naxals. The Naxals entrapped the police through series of 300 LED and landmine blasts. In the encounter which ensued after that, about 600 rounds of fire were exchanged between the Naxals and security forces. Senior police officers have reached the spot and search operations are still continuing. Meanwhile, CRPF has destroyed a Naxal camp in another part of the Jharkhand at Jhumra Hill in Bokaro during which one Assistant Commandant received minor bullet injury.
