In Kashmir valley, the night-long operation by the police in Ahmednagar area of Srinagar city has ended and the Lashkar militant holed up in the area has escaped.

Police and CRPF had cordoned the area last evening and in the initial shootout 5 policemen were injured. In the morning when police intensified the search operation, they found no one holed up in the house from which they were fired on during the night.
