Ahead of today meeting of the Empowered Group of Ministers on Petroleum Prices, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Mr. Murli Deora discussed the issue with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. <br/><br/>Later, Mr. Deora said the interests of consumers and the common man will be protected. The E-GoM headed by the Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee is likely to decide on the recommendations of the Kirit Pariekh report. <br/><br/>The Committee had recommended the decontrol of prices of petroleum products in the wake of growing under recoveries of oil companies. <br/>
