The state level empowered committee today reviewed the progress of implementation of the Prime Minister Package for relief, restoration and rehabilitation of the cloud burst affected people in Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir.AIR correspondent Yangchan Dolma reports from Leh that the high level empowered committee headed by chief secretary Mr S S Kapoor has reviewed the progress of construction of residential houses for the flood victims before on set of winter, distribution of ex gratia relief to the next of kins of those who died in the disaster and restoration of public utilities in the district. The chief secretary has expressed satisfactory over the rehabilitation of victims but also directed the district authority to expatiate the process of important nature of rehabilitation measures before onset of winter. The Deputy Commissioner, Leh Mr Tsering Angchuk briefing the team has informed that the district administration has already sent the account numbers of 1196 beneficiaries whose residential houses either fully or partially damaged and 100 of next of kins of the deceases to the Prime Minister Office for release of ex gratia.
