Emoinu Iratpa Festival Celebrated in Manipur, Gaan Ngai Festival of Zeliarong Community

<span style="color: #222222;">In Manipur, the Emoinu Iratpa festival is being observed today. The religious festival of Meetei community is celebrated on the twelfth lunar day of the Wakching month of Meetei calendar. The festival is dedicated to the Meetei goddess Emoinu Ahongbi who is regarded as goddess of wealth. The festival is celebrated in other States, Myanmar and Bangladesh where a large number of Meetei are inhabited. As part of the festival, every household lit the light in the evening and offered fish and other vegetables to the goddess. On the other hand, the Gaan Ngai festival of Zeliarong community will be held tomorrow in Manipur. It is a festival marking the new year of the Zeliarong community. The Governor of Manipur and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh wishes the people of Manipur on the occasion of these festivals.</span><br />
