Eminent Sanskrit Scholar and Indologist Dr N.R. Varhadpande passed away in Nagpur Friday evening due to old age. He was 94. The last rites on his mortal remains would be performed in the afternoon today. Dr. Varhadpande's book titled 'Aryan Invasion: A Myth' exposing fallacy of Aryan invasion is considered as one of the most profound works in changing the course of ancient Indian history. An ardent student of Psychology, Dr. Varhadpande worked as the Chief Psychologist with the Ministry of Defence and was instrumental in devising various Psychological tests for the armed forces personnel. He was also President of Sanskrit Bhasha Pracharini Sabha for many years and Founder Editor of the periodical 'Sanskrit Bhavitavyam'. He championed the cause of providing education in mother language and promotion of Sanskrit language.
