Eminent constitutional jurist Fali S Nariman passed away in New Delhi

Eminent constitutional jurist Fali S Nariman passed away in New Delhi today. He was 95. He was suffering from multiple ailments. Nariman served as the additional solicitor general between 1972 and 1975 and had resigned from the post during an emergency. His career took a significant leap forward when he was appointed a Senior Advocate by the Supreme Court of India in 1971. In his long and illustrious legal career, Fali Nariman argued in several landmark cases, including the famous case of the National Judicial Appointments Commission. He was honoured with Padma Vibhushan in 2007 and Padma Bhushan in 1991. Fali Nariman was also nominated by the President to the Upper House of Parliament, Rajya Sabha in 1999.<br />”<br />
