Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia said that the emerging economy has taken the country into the age of regulatory mechanism which requires tribunals and commissions to exercise their jurisdiction carefully without venturing into each others territories. Speaking at a seminar in New Delhi, he said, the tribunals and regulators in India are still at nascent stage and would have to take important decisions, avoiding overlapping of their respective jurisdictions. Justice Kapadia, who said commissions, regulatory authorities and tribunals would have to play an important role in view of the growing economy, stressed the need for expert persons for heading such quasi-judicial bodies.
