Emergency meeting of CLP in Andhra this evening

In Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister K Rosaiah has convened an emergency meeting of Congress Legislative Party this evening to discuss party affairs. AICC general Secretary in charge state affairs Veerappa Moily will also attend the meeting. The Chief Minister has announced this with in hours after coming back from Delhi where he held discussions with party senior leaders including disciplinary action committee chairman A K Antony. The proposed meeting assumed significance especially when the Telugu TV channel owned by Kadapa Parliament Member Jaganmohan Reddy was becoming increasingly hostile towards the party high Command. All the 156 MLAs and members of Council have been directed to attend the meeting without fail. Both the Chief Minister and party functionaries have not disclosed the agenda of the meeting. However, the party sources say that the meeting would seek reaffirmation of loyalty and support to AICC president Sonia Gandhi who had been attacked by a Telugu Television channel owned by Jaganmohan Reddy. The meeting is also presumed at being a show of unity and strength and also an effort to isolate the Kadapa MP. After the CLP meeting, the state leadership is expected to take action against those who are loyal to the Kadapa Parliament member including few Ministers who openly defied party instructions.
