The Embassy of India in Kuwait organized a function to celebrate World Hindi Day as part of efforts to promote the use of Hindi. The special message of the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, was read out on the occasion in which the Prime Minister stated that knowledge of Hindi is also becoming increasingly necessary for knowing and understanding India, which is fast emerging as a major world economy. Students from fourteen Indian schools in Kuwait participated in a debate on the topic Bhasha Ka Vikas Desh ka Vikas. The occasion also witnessed group singing of Hindi songs and recitation of ghazals by students and school staff.
