Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said that the international community must remain vigilant and eliminate the safe havens and sanctuaries that have been provided to terrorists so that the scourge of terrorism can eventually be eradicated. The Speaker addressed a special session at the Second G-20 Speakers’ Consultation Meeting at Seoul. Describing the killing of al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden as a landmark event in the global war against terrorism, Ms Kumar said his elimination was a milestone, not an end of what is anongoing war against terror. The Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Meera Kumar led an Indian Parliamentary delegation to attend the meeting at Seoul.
